Privacy Policy

Short version: PostureCoach is designed to keep your data on your iPhone. We don't track you, we don't sell data, and we don't have user accounts. The only data that leaves your device is anonymous subscription status (via Apple and our payment provider) and aggregate crash reports.

1. Information We Collect

PostureCoach is built around the principle of local-first data. The following data is collected and stored only on your device:

Motion data from your AirPods. Used in real time to detect slouching. This data is processed entirely on your iPhone and is never transmitted to our servers.
Posture sessions. The start time, end time, score, and slouch count of each session you complete. Stored locally in the app's database.
Calibration baseline. The pitch angle that represents your "good posture", established during onboarding. Stored locally.
App settings. Reminder interval, quiet hours, haptic intensity, notification sound, and similar preferences. Stored locally.

The following data is shared with third parties as described below:

Subscription receipt. When you start a subscription or make a purchase, Apple processes the payment. Apple shares purchase verification data with our subscription provider (RevenueCat) so the app knows whether you have an active subscription.
Anonymous device ID. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous identifier to your installation to track subscription status. This ID is not linked to your name, email, or any personally identifying information.

2. Apple Health Integration

If you grant permission, PostureCoach saves each completed posture session to Apple Health as a "Mindful Minutes" entry. This data is stored in Apple Health on your device and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not have access to your Health data — we only write to it on your behalf.

You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → PostureCoach.

3. Calendar Access

If you enable "Pause during calendar events", PostureCoach reads your calendar locally on your device to check whether you are currently in a meeting. This data is read in real time only and is never stored or transmitted. We do not access the names of attendees, the contents of events, or any other calendar details beyond start/end times.

4. Notifications

PostureCoach uses local notifications, delivered by your iPhone, to remind you to check your posture. We do not send push notifications from our servers.

5. Third-Party Services

Apple App Store. Processes payments and manages subscriptions. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat. Manages subscription state. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. RevenueCat collects an anonymous installation ID and purchase events. No personally identifying information is sent.

6. What We Do Not Do

We do not require an email address or account.
We do not use advertising trackers or any third-party advertising SDK.
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
We do not have access to your motion data, posture history, or any data stored on your device.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All locally-stored data lives on your iPhone. To delete all data, simply uninstall the PostureCoach app. There is no server-side data to delete because we don't store any personal data on our servers.

Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their respective policies. To request deletion of your anonymous RevenueCat record, contact support@posturecoach.app.

8. Children's Privacy

PostureCoach is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us.

9. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personally identifying information, most data protection rights (access, rectification, erasure) are exercised directly on your device by uninstalling the app or revoking permissions in iOS Settings. For subscription-related data, contact us at the address below.

10. International Data Transfers

RevenueCat and Apple may process data in countries outside your country of residence. By using PostureCoach, you consent to such transfers, subject to the protections in this Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be communicated through the App or this website. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
